Frequently Asked Questions

What can I file a grievance about?

You can file a grievance about any aspect of how Cashundo processes your personal data, including: denial of your right to access information (Section 11), failure to correct or erase your data (Section 12), suspected data breach, violation of consent obligations, concerns about data sharing or retention, or any other issue relating to your rights as a Data Principal under the DPDPA.

Who is the Grievance Officer?

The Grievance Officer for Cashundo is Cashundo Team. The Grievance Officer is appointed as required under Section 8(10) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Contact: cashundo.in@gmail.com.

What information should I include in my grievance?

Please include the following in your grievance email: • Your registered email address (for account identification). • A clear description of the issue or grievance. • The specific right or provision you believe has been violated. • Any relevant dates, screenshots, or supporting information. • Your preferred resolution or outcome.

What are my rights under the DPDPA?

Under Chapter III of the DPDPA, you have the following rights as a Data Principal: Right to Access Information (Section 11): You may request a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed. In-app: use the Export page. Right to Correction & Erasure (Section 12): You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data, or erasure of data no longer needed. In-app: edit any record or use Settings → Clear Data. Right to Grievance Redressal (Section 13): You may file a complaint with our Grievance Officer. If unresolved, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India. Right to Nominate (Section 14): You may nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity. Contact the Grievance Officer to register a nomination.

Can I escalate to the Data Protection Board of India?

Yes. If your grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction within 30 days, or if we fail to respond, you may file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) once it is established and operational under the DPDPA Rules. The Board has the power to investigate complaints, impose penalties, and award compensation. Details of the Board's complaint process will be published by the Central Government.

What about in-app tools for exercising my rights?

Most data rights can be exercised directly within the app without contacting the Grievance Officer: • Access & Export: Go to the Export page to download all your data. • Correct: Edit any transaction, account, or record in-app. • Delete (partial): Move records to Trash; they are permanently purged after 30 days. • Delete (all): Go to Settings → Clear Data to immediately erase everything. • Delete account: Contact cashundo.in@gmail.com with subject "Account Deletion Request". Contact the Grievance Officer only if you are unable to exercise your rights through the app, or if you believe your rights have been violated.

What is the response timeline?

• Acknowledgement: Within 48 hours of receiving your grievance. • Resolution: Within 30 days of acknowledgement (or as prescribed by DPDPA Rules when notified). • Data breach notification: We will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by Section 8(6) of the DPDPA, within the timeframe prescribed by the Board. If we require additional time beyond 30 days to investigate a complex grievance, we will inform you and provide an updated timeline.

How do I disconnect or manage my Telegram integration?

You can disconnect your Telegram account at any time using either of these methods: • In-app: Go to Settings → Telegram → Disconnect. This removes your Telegram chat ID from your Cashundo profile immediately. • Via bot: Send /disconnect to the Cashundo Telegram bot. Disconnecting Telegram does not delete your Cashundo account or any financial data you entered via the Mini App - all transactions, reminders, and records remain in your account. It only removes the link between your Telegram identity and your Cashundo profile. If you want us to erase the Telegram data we hold (your Telegram user ID and chat ID), contact our Grievance Officer with subject "DPDPA Request - Erase Telegram Data". We will action this within 30 days.

Escalation to Data Protection Board

If your grievance is not resolved within 30 days, or if you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI) under Section 13 of the DPDPA. The Board can investigate complaints, impose penalties on Data Fiduciaries, and award compensation to Data Principals. Details of the Board's complaint portal will be published by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
